Did the Middle Age “Sex and the City” Lay an Aging Egg?

While I did appreciate Carrie Bradshaw’s wordsmithing wisdom and ability to turn a phrase, I was never a big-time Sex and the City evangelist. So, I’m curious how some of you are vibing with the show’s new "And Just Like That" comedy-drama series, 17 years after their last reunion?

This New York Times review calls it “a cartoonish view of middle-age” and skewers it as trying to be so woke it’s unwoke. Maybe the show is truly “white whine” but I particularly appreciated this paragraph in the NYT review which is refreshing coming from mainstream media:

“There are real benefits that attend this stage of life: enhanced self-confidence; knowing your own mind; the soul-nourishing connection and, yes, uproarious fun and laughter to be found in relationships (with friends, lovers, family) that have deepened with time. Midlife can also be prime years for professional success and achievement.”

So, if this series is a disappointment, which series or film depicts midlife more accurately? Look forward to your recommendations.
