How Do You Think About “Health and Wellness?”

Recently, MEA hosted an online event with Dr. Mark Hyman, a New York Times #1 best selling author and internationally recognized leader, speaker, educator, and advocate in the field of Functional Medicine. (You can watch it here if you missed it.)

We had over 1500 people sign up, making it our best attended fireside chat so far. It is clear that our community is very interested in the topics of healthy aging and longevity!

In prior posts, I have mentioned Dr. Philip Pizzo, MD of the Stanford Center for Longevity and his prescription for longevity for the 21st century: Purpose, Community and Wellness. This framework is part of the ethos of Modern Elder Academy and our current curriculum does an excellent job with the first two pillars. As we continue to expand our content and programming, we see an opportunity to do even more in the area of wellness. It makes sense. As we gain more clarity about our next act and what we want out of our lives, we want as many healthy and vibrant years as possible to realize that vision.

But “health and wellness” means something different to everyone. So, as we think about how we can best serve our growing community of Modern Elders in this regard, we are currently conducting a survey to better understand your views on health and wellness. The survey is anonymous and takes about 12 minutes to complete.

Can you share your feedback with us on this important topic? You can also share the link with others because we’re interested in the perspectives of people who know about MEA as well as ones who don’t (yet!).

There are certain to be some great insights revealed and we will be sure to highlight some of these in future Wisdom Well posts and other MEA communications. I’m excited to hear from you!

P.S. I was fortunate enough to give a few speeches at the SXSW conference in Austin last month. Here’s the video from a panel I led on “Get Ready for a 100-Year Life.” Hope you enjoy it.
