So, it’s not surprising that, when we opened MEA, we had a library and we organized it not by the Dewey Decimal system, but by questions, as in, since MEA is all about asking questions, not delivering answers:
- What are some of the unexpected pleasures of aging?
- How can I build my emotional intelligence?
- How can nature be my teacher?
- What are some modern elder leadership best practices?
But, we outgrew that initial library pretty quickly. This week, as 30 alumni converged on campus for a week of special programming, we dedicated the new library in our Vista building with many of the visiting alums bringing books to add to our collection. It was a beautiful evening as we often have intimate stories that accompany our favorite books. Hope you enjoy my brief video, which includes a special cameo appearance by my dad, in front of the new library. C’mon down this summer for Sabbatical Sessions where you can read to your heart’s delight.
By the way, thanks for being a loyal reader as this is Wisdom Well’s 1,000th post!
