One of Silicon Valley’s “Wise Guys.”

More than 35 years ago, Guy Kawasaki popularized the word evangelist in marketing Apple’s Macintosh as an "Apple evangelist," and he became one of the world’s best known marketers. He’s a bestselling author of 15 books, a venture capitalist, and, most important to me, someone learning to surf around age 60.

His book, “Wise Guy,” came out a year ago with a series of vignettes about his life plus all kinds of “wisdom snacks.” He writes about everything from having his shoes shined by Virgin founder Richard Branson to what he learned from Steve Jobs about “denting the universe.”

Over the next two days, Guy and I will riff on why we both have a crush on Carol Dweck and the concept of mindset, how our growth mindset opened up possibility in our lives at a time when many midlifers find their sandbox getting smaller, how grit is one of the most important qualities of an entrepreneur, and why adopting an ethos of “what goes around comes around” means you’ll do well by doing good (Guy calls it the “karmic scoreboard,” I call it “karmic capitalism”).

Buckle up, this is gonna be a fun ride!
