As any Oregonian will tell you, an old-growth forest creates a healthy ecosystem of diverse trees and animals that flourish in the multi-layered canopies.
Part of the reason we created MEA was to offer “old growth” in an “old school.” When properly valued, a modern elder can provide a healthy ecosystem of curiosity and wisdom for all the community’s younger saplings. And, of course, the deeply connected root systems support and strengthen each other.
