When we’re young, we have little choice about how we’re formally educated. However, as we age, we can choose our schools and tools. Unfortunately, many of us aren’t that conscious about how we develop our wisdom. Instead, we tend to drift into educational modes based on circumstances, and these modes shape who we become. We often overlook the abundance of options available to us.
To be conscious is to be aware of the choices life offers, including those that can teach and guide us in the direction we want to go. This awareness gives us the freedom to choose with the understanding that our decisions will influence who we become. We no longer need to be wedded to the cultural conditioning and indoctrination of our childhood’s mandatory schooling. Adulthood opens the door to embracing new perspectives and ways of thinking that have the potential to change our lives.
And that’s precisely why we created MEA, the world’s first midlife wisdom school. We hope to see you this fall in Baja, one of the most glorious times to be here.
