A Week of Wisdom.

Last week, I co-led a workshop with Wisdom 2.0 founder Soren Gordhamer called “The Emergence of the Wise Leader” and we had an impressive collection of wisdom seekers and wisdom keepers.

One of the most engaged conversations was about the difference between knowledge and wisdom in our new Chat GPT world and here are a few soundbites from the classroom:

  • “Knowledge is a science. Wisdom is an art.”
  • “Wisdom is seeing through the knowledge.”
  • “Knowledge is modern. Wisdom is ancient.”
  • “Wisdom is a skill at living.”
  • “Chat GPT is a productivity-enhancing tool, but its language is bland and vague and lacks soul.”
  • “GPT sounds like DDT, which we thought was going to revolutionize agriculture but had the opposite effect such that regenerative farming is taking us back to our roots.”
  • “MEA offers ‘aperture training,’ how to widen the lens to unlock the wisdom inside of us.”

I’m excited to be joining Soren on stage at the Wisdom 2.0 conference at the end of April in San Francisco. Here’s a quick video of the two of us at the MEA campus talking about this conference where the CEO of the company of Chat GPT Sam Altman will be speaking.

And, here’s David Brooks’ recent Op-Ed on being human in the era of AI. He suggests we should double-down on developing a distinct personal voice and presentation skills, focusing on creativity and adopting unusual worldviews, and investing in empathy and honing our situational awareness.
