Don’t Resist The Reset

We've all heard the saying,"if it ain't broke, don't fix it", right? That may be good for maintenance purposes, but if "it" can change for the better, shouldn't we be on board with that for growth's sake? At some point, we've most likely felt the nudge to make some kind of change, even getting motivated to the point of almost making said change, only to ultimately Resist The Reset.

We stare into the expansive ravine of future/opportunity, and while considering the jump, patterns of fear and resistance arise, making us feel as if not resetting is the right thing to do.

Whatever form of fear may present itself at the edge of the cliff, it is there and then we have a choice. Trust or Fear. We often don’t see the trampoline in the ravine on which we can bounce back to try again or bounce into an amazing new place. We need only look at the past to see how our basic needs have always been met in one way or another, which enables us to trust for our future. You (yes, you) have the freedom to jump, the freedom to succeed, and also the freedom to fail.

Just like resetting a bone is necessary for healing one that’s broken, I hope this blog entry acts as a form of motivation for movement in whatever reset/re-alignment may be awaiting you on your journey. Take it easy on yourself, embrace grace, hope and compassion, and DON’T RESIST THE RESET.

Where are you resisting the reset? Relationally? Professionally? Geographically? Emotionally? Physically?
