Downsizing can be Uplifting.

Stuff. The world is full of it. The United States has 50,000 mini-storage facilities comprising 2.5 billion square feet of rental space. We pay money to store stuff we don’t need nor often see. I say enough is truly enough!

It’s time to hit pause and begin communing with our stuff. There’s a liminality in coming face-to-face with the souvenirs of our lives. Fashion may come back in style, but more likely, it just has a stench. The solution is simple: Give it away or throw it away. Let Marie Kondo be our spiritual icon as we all begin the great reset of this new era.

While we may have spent a lifetime accumulating, it’s time to face the reality that we are not the sum total of our stuff. Furthermore, it’s hard to run the midlife marathon while being loaded down with baggage. It’s time for our “Great Midlife Edit.” Let’s put the mini-storage industry out of business. Someone else needs our stuff more than we do.

Passing on the stuff we no longer want, or need, is not only a gift to others, but ourselves—a realignment with what matters.
