How We Die Influences How Others Will Live.

Dying a good death. It’s not a subject most of us choose to ponder. But, when you’re a medical doctor and face later-stage brain cancer, you recognize that you may not be there for your kids’ graduations or weddings.

You recognize that this is the ultimate opportunity to offer a “teachable moment” on how to become a good ancestor based upon how you prepare for your final days on the planet.

Dr. Danny Friedland is a friend and MEA guest faculty member teaching workshops on his popular book, Leading Well from Within: A Neuroscience-Based and Mindfulness-Based Framework for Conscious Leadership. His infectious and open-hearted spirit still has his MEA cohort feeling the love two and a half years later from when he taught in Baja.

On November, 12th 2020, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme Brain Cancer. Together with his family, they have created a YouTube Channel Playlist called Living Well from Within, which includes a recent half-hour discussion I had with Danny on Day 314. Please consider “subscribing” to this playlist or video if you’re interested in following along with his family’s rich learnings they have to share during this sacred transition in their lives.

This 30-minute illuminating conversation with Dr. Danny shows how a Modern Elder can be a role model even in the face of death. Our death may create an organizing principle for others’ lives. Danny is scheduled for a serious brain surgery today so keep him in your prayers.
