My Mirror Image: 26 and 62.

At 26, the world was my oyster. To be explored with bluster and boister.

Baby CEO who didn’t know squat,
A knucklehead so proud he was self-taught.

I wanted to provide joy to the world.
Make some money as my biz plan unfurled.

Silently, I became my business card.
In good times, held myself in high regard.

The hotel biz is a wild roller coaster.
Bad times meant I was no longer a boaster.

With age, my success script needed a retool.
Set aside ego so I could start up a school.

Learned to disconnect net worth from self worth.
Along the way, I felt a spiritual rebirth.

Being part of a story bigger than my own
Inspired my heart as my soul has grown.

My life’s purpose isn’t to live forever,
To outwit God, impressed with my clever.

It’s to create something that outlives me,
Based on the creed, “I am what survives me.”

I’m 62, mirror image of 26.
Wiser ‘cuz this old dog has learned new tricks.
