Black Modern Elder Week (Oct 9 – 16) This inaugural workshop dedicated to those from the African diaspora is almost full. It is a great combination of MEA alums and newbies who want to explore what it means to be an elder as a black human on this planet.
The Art & Science of Mindfulness and Compassion (Oct 16 – 23) I’m excited to be co-leading this workshop with Dr. Shauna Shapiro, a leading scientist studying the effects of mindfulness on well-being, a popular, regular teacher at the Esalen Institute.
Love, Death & Human Connection (Oct 23 – 30) Michael Hebb, my co-leader for this workshop, created the Death Over Dinner global movement and is a spectacular curator of life-changing conversations. Perfectly timed before the start of Dia de los Muertos.
Write for Your Life: Discovering Yourself and Your Purpose (Oct 30 – Nov 6) Mollie McNeil’s blog post on discovering your purpose through writing was so popular that we’re pairing her with our own poet laureate Jeff Hamaoui. This workshop is perfect for beginners as writing will be a small part of the program.
Body Wisdom: Keep Moving for Life! (Nov 6 – 13) Tom McCook is one of our most-loved guest faculty members due to the combo of his encyclopedia-like knowledge of the body and his deep empathy for how we inhabit our bodies as we age. Paired with my co-founder Christine Sperber.
Mastery Week: The Power of Purpose (Nov 14 – 19) Richard Leider is one of the world’s leading experts on purpose and a prolific bestselling author so I’m thrilled to be co-leading this 5-night program with him. Particularly valuable for MEA alums since Mastery Weeks dive deeper into one particular topic.
Mastery Week: Regenerating Soil and Soul: People, Planet, and Purpose (Nov 21 – 26) Isn’t Thanksgiving week a perfect time to celebrate our regenerative relationship with the planet with Paul Hawken and Jeff Hamaoui? Paul’s recent book “Regeneration” became a New York Times bestseller.
Jumpstart: Crafting Your Next Chapter (Nov 27 – Dec 4) Kerry Hannon knows career transitions, midlife entrepreneurship and personal finance better than just about anyone. Pair her with Jeff and me and you have a dynamic workshop dedicated to mid-career renewal. Stop procrastinating on your next move!
Cultivating Awe: How to Make it Your Superpower (Dec 4 – 11) This is a treat as long-time MEA friend Dacher Keltner’s new book “Awe: The New Science of Everyday Wonder and How It Can Transform Your Life” comes out in early January. Be one of the first to learn how you can infuse more awe in your life.
Mastery Week: Entrepreneurship At Any Age (Dec 12 – 17) This will be a provocative, candid exploration on what it means to be an entrepreneur – both the upside and downside – with TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie and me. You will learn how to plant your seeds of wisdom in fertile, new soil.
All of these workshops will fill-up so it’s probably better to apply sooner rather than later.
